FAITH ALLIANCE OF METRO ATLANTA CALLS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION TO HONOR THE LEGACY OF
HON. JOHN LEWIS AND REV. C.T. VIVIAN
Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta joins with the larger community in mourning the loss of two giants of the Civil Rights movement, Congressman John Lewis and Rev. C.T. Vivian
“May their lives inspire us to stand up swiftly and courageously
to injustice as we continue their legacy,” said FAMA President,
Rabbi Ellen Nemhauser.
The alliance of clergy and lay leaders calls upon all people to follow
in the footsteps of these two great men and advocate for racial and
religious equity, making, in the words of Rep. Lewis “good trouble,
Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta is a coalition of clergy and lay leaders allied to promote understanding, respect, prayer, interaction and unity among the diverse faiths in the greater Atlanta region, and to advance the influence of voices of the faith communities for the common good through advocacy and action, communal prayer, education on religion, dialogue and networking.
